Happy Friday (and a Giveaway)

March 5, 2010

This was a good week because:

I posted in my blog 5 times! (I’m a M-F kind of gal.  I spend so much time on my computer that I just have to put it away on the weekends.)

I got a haircut.

I made a big and bold decision.

I made waffles for breakfast because I have totally spoiled my kids into thinking that homemade food is required for breakfast, and I got tired of hearing “Cereal again?”

I  learned about an amazing wire technique in a tutorial on Daisychain Jewellry. The photo below is what she did, not what I did.  Mine most certainly won’t be as even and beautifully tapered, but I sure am going to give it a try.

I learned from the queen of color herself Kerry Bogart where to buy high-quality colored wire. (photos by Kerry)

I learned about a fun new toy from Lori Anderson.

I finished a necklace.

And I have some leftover handmade lampwork beads from the set ( Beverly Hicklin in the UK.)

Leave me a comment on this post before midnight Monday, and I will enter you into a drawing for these beads - my gift to you for being part of my good week.  And while you’re here, please subscribe to my RSS feed (an invitation, not a requirement for the giveaway.)

Have a great weekend!

I am so thrilled that you signed on the dotted line and took that leap! It is so very awesome to learn in a class setting with other people who will be as excited and frustrated and terrified as you but really eager to learn something new. I always say that it is not a good day unless you have learned something new. Seems like this was a rocking week! Can’t wait to see what you do with this new knowledge.
Enjoy the day!

HI Lisa, thanks for telling me….. ;-)
I actually would like to know more about that “lori-toy”. What is it? Just curious.
I didn’t get much of a chance to read my fav blogs lately, since I am working like crazy at the moment and the baby is kind of getting bored laying in her back doing nothing, so something has to suffer :(
Wonderful post - Count me in - I am on German time, so maybe I’ll make it in time for the giveaway…..

I am sure your time line has expired, I wasn't

Sue | March 9, 2010

I am sure your time line has expired, I wasn’t able to read my blogs for a few days due to family commitments. I absolutely love to bead crochet and follow you blog because of the lovely work you do iwth bead crochet. I will definitely try a necklace with lampwork beads. To date, I have only done bracelets. All the best.

It's hard to accept that you are, once and for all, a grown up. Every now and then, I'm still amazed that they let me drive in rush hour. But the fact is, there is no "they" anymore. I am the "they" that's in charge. I'm in the middle of my life and there is no more waiting around for things to begin. ~~~ Pitching My Tent
